Apple iPhone 13 will be manufactured by Foxconn and Pegatron, and the Pro's larger camera has been verified once more.

The next iPhones are scheduled to be released in three months, and we're hearing more and more about them. According to the most recent one, Foxconn and Pegatron will be the two primary production partners for the 2021 phones, with orders for the iPhone 13 small shared between them.

Pegatron, a Taiwanese Apple supplier, will continue to be a key manufacturer of smaller iPhones and will share orders for this year's iPhone 13 mini with Foxconn.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst, this will be the final small smartphone for the foreseeable future due to "poor sales," with only three phones released in 2022. According to a previous storey, a cheaper large-screen 14 Max would replace the mini, so that's still up in the air.

The fact that Foxconn is the primary iPhone producer is not surprising, but Apple's continued reliance on Pegatron is noteworthy, especially after the Taiwanese firm was placed on probation for labour breaches at a student labour programme. According to sources, Foxconn will continue to manufacture a significant portion of the iPhone 13 devices.

Meanwhile, we've learned that the iPhone 13 Pros will feature stronger camera configurations than the iPhone 12 Pro models, as the square layout on the rear expands. The change is readily visible when the new model's protective case is placed over the existing one.

According to credible sources, this year's iPhone 13 small will be the final 5.4-inch model that Apple will sell in its flagship lineup due to low sales. Apple does not intend to release a 5.4-inch iPhone 14 small, and the tiny line will finish with the iPhone 13.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple would instead sell two 6.1-inch iPhones and two 6.7-inch iPhones in 2022, implying that both the normal iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro will be available in those two sizes.

Pegatron, Apple's second-largest iPhone manufacturer after Foxconn, paid $14.2 million in February to acquire land rights for a plant in Chennai, India. The investment follows a proposal accepted by its board of directors in late 2020 to invest $150 million in the country's first iPhone production factory.

Regular readers may recall that Apple terminated its collaboration with Pegatron in November 2020 after discovering that the main iPhone supplier was violating labour laws at a student worker programme.

As a consequence of the infractions, Apple placed Pegatron on probation, and while the supplier's existing iPhone business was not expected to be impacted, it was initially projected to lose certain iPhone 12 orders to another Apple supplier, Luxshare.

Update: According to the complete storey, both Pegatron and Foxconn will share orders for the iPhone 13 mini, however, Pegatron's orders for the smaller form factor iPhone have decreased considerably this year owing to lower-than-expected sales of the iPhone 12 mini.

While Pegatron is expected to receive a limited number of orders for the basic 6.1-inch iPhone 13 model in the next iPhone range, Foxconn will continue to be the major assembler for the whole 2021 iPhone series., China-based Luxshare will also become one of Apple's iPhone production partners this year.
